New Memberships For Unique Creative Industry Opportunities!
We’ve joined a few interesting organisations to grow our networks both inside and outside the direct creative economy ecosystem!
In 2015, we joined the Kenya Private Sector Alliance to promote the visibility of the creative economy sector and lobby for favourable taxation and industry regulations for Kenyan creative industries. In this We continue to work for an enabling business environment for creative ventures, and for fair business practices for fashion, crafts, and music as part of the post-Global Enterprise Summit 2015 conversation.
Since then, we’ve also joined the following groups: the Alliance for Artisan Enterprise, African Cotton & Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF), and the East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA). Here’s a little more about each of them and why we joined:
The Alliance for Artisan Enterprise supports the power and potential of the artisan sector to create jobs, increase incomes, enhance cultural heritage and promote development that respects artisans and their environment. We want to work with them to increase the sustainable inclusion of artisans in global economic opportunities and strategic enhancement of relevant value chains.
African Cotton & Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF) is a pan-African umbrella organization which promotes trade and increases market access for the African cotton, textile, and apparel industry. We want to help the effective competition of the relevant Kenyan industries in the world market.
East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) provides a voice for industry players in the East Africa private equity industry in advocacy and regional policy engagement. We’d like to tap into their investment research resources in the region and partner with like-minded venture capital funds to develop investment strategies for the creative sector.
Through these networks, we are looking to increase opportunities available for our creative enterprises using professional development, technical learning, and business growth. We look forward to sharing more about our conversations and achievements with these new friends as they unfold, and inviting you to get involved as different opportunities avail themselves!
