We’re on to the second leg of the HEVA Forum Skills Exchange program, a joint partnership with Creative United and the British Council. Between 5 and 11 May, a team from HEVA will visit Creative United in the UK to meet creative sector businesses as well as national bodies and associations in the creative sector. In addition, we will conduct two workshops on the dynamic, evolving East African fashion context. The objectives of the skills exchange include:
- Knowledge sharing in business skills and career development opportunities,
- Gaining insights into alternative finance models to develop more funding solutions,
- Increase both Creative United and HEVA’s networks to support global partnerships and grow creative and cultural industries,
- Widen market penetration and distribution channels for Kenyan businesses.
The traveling team comprises our Finance and Investment Manager: Maureen Njuguna, our Programs Coordinator: Amal Mohamed and HEVA's Strategy and Support Advisor: Sunny Dolat. With them are three HEVA-supported business owners: Kawira Mirero, Katungulu Mwendwa and Kepha Maina.
We look forward to to build practical partnerships in order to to link Kenyan businesses with learning, skill building and market information on an international level. As well, we shall share the valuable innovations, ideas and actions of Kenyans on the same platform! If you are in London and want to attend our 2 afternoon workshops in London on Tuesday 9th June 2016, sign up to access the few remaining spaces here!
