Mr. Gachara works to define strategy, identify investors and funding partners and provide assistance to creative and cultural sector ventures to achieve their growth plans.  Mr. Gachara has a background in Communication from Daystar University (Kenya), Conflict Prevention and Management from the International Peace and Security Institute (Italy), Design Thinking and Problem Solving from the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Private Equity and Venture Capital, Strathmore Business School (Kenya).

Ms. Njuguna has over eight years experience in financial management and has been responsible for multi-fund budgets, financial forecasting, strategic planning and fundraising. At HEVA she has developed innovative hybrid financial models that combine the best elements of venture capital and impact investment, with a with a keen application of a gender lens, to increase access to early and growth-stage business capital. Wakiuru holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Strategic management and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking.

Kendi Kamwambia
Support and Compliance

Ms. Kamwambia has over five years experience in financial management and has been responsible for managing our business investment portfolio to ensure recovery of disbursed funds for re-capitalization in subsequent investment cycles. She also identifies investees capacity-building needs and assists in the sourcing of consultants to address these gaps. Kendi is an ACCA affiliate and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from Strathmore University and is currently pursuing a Masters in monitoring and evaluation.



Dr. Khasiani is a writer who holds a Master's in Public Health (Health Economics), and has worked in both private and public health sectors in Kenya. She has extensive experience in project management, research and administration. Dr. Khasiani is key to HEVA's policy development and ecosystem-building work with stakeholders: public and private sector, international partners, practitioners and investees. She also conducts research and analyses for HEVA's newsletters, reports and studies.

Built on his mathematical background, Mars' role involves research and study into HEVA's internal processes and external engagements with students, investees and industry practitioners/professionals, as well as state, philanthropic, developmental and corporate stakeholders at all levels. His findings and continued analysis inform our program strategy with regard to policy discourse both locally and regionally, and practical engagement with the wider HEVA community.
